Based on the principles and policies outlined by the Program for Infant/Toddler Care (PITC), family child care homes are ideal for families for several key reasons:
PITC emphasizes that families are partners in care. This means the program seeks to understand and integrate families' beliefs, values, practices, and child-rearing strategies into caregiving practices, making the care more personalized and aligned with each family's unique background.
Recognizing that young children are unique individuals, PITC advocates for caregiving that identifies and incorporates strategies tailored to each child's temperaments, development rates, and interests. This approach ensures that care is responsive and supportive of each child's needs and learning style. (Learn More)
PITC prioritizes close and responsive relationships in intimate settings, providing infants and toddlers with the nurturing, support, and guidance they need. This fosters emotional security and supports the child's development in a holistic manner. (Learn More)
Research supported by PITC has shown that small group sizes and appropriate ratios are critical for quality care. Small groups allow for personalized care and facilitate the development of intimate relationships, as well as ensuring safety and freedom for exploration. (Learn More)
PITC advocates for continuity of care, where caregivers and children remain together throughout the infancy period. This consistency helps build deep, secure connections essential for the child's emotional and social development. (Learn more)
Recognizing the importance of culture in a child's development, PITC emphasizes the need for caregivers to understand, respect, and integrate the cultural backgrounds of the families they serve. This approach helps children develop a strong sense of identity and belonging. (Learn More)
PITC supports inclusive care, ensuring that all children, including those with disabilities or delays, receive high-quality care that is individualized and responsive to their needs. This inclusive approach allows every child to participate fully and feel a strong sense of belonging within the program. (Learn More)
These principles collectively make family child care homes ideal by providing a nurturing, individualized, culturally responsive, and inclusive environment that respects and integrates the diverse needs and backgrounds of families and their children.

Modern Education Family Childcare was more than a daycare for us - they felt like an extension of our family. They had excellent communication, and consistently sent pictures multiple times a day and a daily log of activities. What we appreciated the most was their caring and attentive personalities to uplevel our son's development.
The daycare feels like a second home. The environment is meticulously maintained, clean, and thoughtfully organized. There is a wonderful space for meals, engaging play areas, and a peaceful napping room. As new parents, the guidance and support we received has been an incredible and unexpected benefit.
My daughter has flourished and learned so much in their care. She actually gets excited in the morning to go to the daycare. They send us cute pics throughout the day of what she's doing. Also nice balance of outdoor activities with indoor play. The facility is clean and our daughter never contracted any germs. Overall A++
